TRVL is proud of its five-star rating from users
TRVL, the iPad travel magazine with a five-star rating from users, has been shortlisted as Travel Magazine of the Year in the Digital Magazine Awards 2011. The Digital Magazine Awards showcase and celebrate the best magazines, editors, writers, photographers and designers from digital publishing.
The finalists in the Travel Magazine category are:
- Andaman 365 (Sirimedia Co Ltd)
- JPFreek Adventure Magazine (JPFreek Adventure Magazine)
- North Carolina’s Digital Travel Guide (Journal Communications)
- Suedtirol Lebensart (Journal International Verlag)
- TRVL (TRVL)
The competition, several backed by corporate bodies, offer stiff competition but TRVL is proud of its five-star rating from users, a rating it has maintained for the entire year since its launch. TRVL is a free iPad only travel and photography magazine that covers a single destination in each issue. It was the first iPad exclusive magazine in the world, started in a spare bedroom by founders Michel Elings and Jochem Wijnands. Kieran Meeke, TRVL’s Editor-in-Chief said: “Despite being free, TRVL does not compromise in offering high quality photography and journalism. We also provide video, location-based photos and social media interaction which we will be building on to establish a real relationship with our readers. We know from their ratings how much they value the magazine.”
The awards will be announced at a dinner in London on December 14 that both founders will attend.
